Article published on: Tuesday, 15 September 2020

This World Mental Health Day, Buckinghamshire Mind is calling to all local schools to help us to promote mental health wellbeing to students and fundraise for our vital mental health services by holding a ‘Mufti for Bucks Mind’ day on Friday the 9th October.

As a thank you, our Children and Young People’s Services team will offer a free mental health awareness assembly to schools who take part.

We recognise the importance of training and educating young people about mental health and all its aspects, particularly at the current time. By educating and discussing mental health from a young age we strive to empower young people to reach out for help when they need it, to help others and, in turn, reduce stigma and discrimination.

Offering a free mental health awareness assembly to schools who participate in #MuftiForBucksMind is one way in which Buckinghamshire Mind will be supporting schools to ensure the wellbeing of their students.

We appreciate that some schools may not have the capacity to organise a mufti day this term, given the priorities in terms of helping children to catch-up after the closures due to lockdown. Therefore, this offer is open to all schools who wish to take part in #MuftiForBucksMind and receive a free mental health awareness assembly at any time during this academic year.
