How do community transport schemes work? What is a dementia friendly community? What does a community library offer and is this the community hub of the future? What are the benefits of volunteering?
We are excited to announce the launch of a new series of audio podcasts!
With the help of local community projects and organisations, social care agencies and individuals who use some of the services aimed at reducing isolation, we’ll be discussing a range of social issues affecting our communities.
The first episode, Be A Friend, Become A Befriender explores the concept of befriending, why this type of support is needed and looks at two types of befriending models.
The series, developed, produced and presented by Angelle Bryan, Community Links Officer, will provide a platform for community groups and organisations that provide services to vulnerable adults.
Each episode in the series will be available on a monthly basis via the Prevention Matters Facebook and Twitter pages and will be available on Prevention Matter’s page For Voluntary and Community Groups.
