At the last general election, national Mind and local Mind campaigning helped ensure that mental health was on the agenda of every major political party. Mind aims to maintain this momentum and make sure that mental health is at the heart of the forthcoming general election in June 2017.

On Tuesday 2 May, Mind proudly launched its manifesto for the 2017 general election, entitled ‘Making it Happen: Our manifesto for better mental health’.

We want the next government to commit to transforming mental health services, employment opportunities, the benefits and back-to-work system, and social and community support. We also want them to commit to improving public attitudes towards people with mental health problems, as well as scrapping discriminatory legislation which currently prevents people with mental health problems accessing the services and support they need to live full independent lives.
