What do we aim to do?
We offer one-to-one and group support to people who have experienced mental ill health and are now looking to move forward on the road to recovery by obtaining some form of work.
How do we do this?
Following an initial appointment, we work with clients to make the most of their skills and talents and create an action plan.
The support offered is tailored to individual needs and may include helping to find voluntary work initially, then, when and if you feel ready, part-time paid work or full time paid employment.
Employment Support works with a network of partners to provide training and increasing clients’ confidence and self-esteem. We can also help with forms, preparation of a C.V and interview techniques.
Ongoing support and liaison can continue once clients are in employment too.
If a client is already in employment, we support them to remain in their job.
Who is it for?
The service is open to anyone over the age of 18 and living in Buckinghamshire who has experienced mental distress and is now ready to start looking for employment. You can either self-refer or contact your GP or CPN for referral to our service.
With the help and support of Employment Support I have been able to slowly progress back into a working enviroment, they made sure I was not taking on too much too quickly.
